A group of over 60 former AFP members came together at the AFP College in Barton, Canberra on Friday 18 October 2019, to attend the inaugural AGM of the Australian Federal Police Former Members Association Inc. The previous Executive Committee was returned with the addition of 2 new committee members.
The group heard from our President Mike Doroshenko who gave a stirring report on how far we have come in our first year of operation, and also his vision for the future of the AFPFMA. Click here to read the President’s Report.
The AGM was also introduced to the Nominal Roll of foundation AFP members who joined in 1979. The nominal roll was tirelessly put together by AFPFMA member Dave W, with assistance from Melita Z. Thank you for your efforts Dave. Copies were handed out with more copies to come. The night continued with dinner and drinks.

Celebrations of the AFP 40th Anniversary continued the next day (Saturday) at Parliament house with many former members attending the event.
Then on Sunday the AFPFMA toured Belconnen Station with a free BBQ lunch down by lake Burley Griffin. Thanks to the AFP Volunteers in Policing who cooked up a storm and AFPA who provided funds for the event.
It was then off to the AFP Museum to tour this fabulous exhibit, with some retro memorabilia and lots of stories to tell.
All in all it was a fabulous weekend for members of the AFPFMA and we look forward to our next AGM/Reunion.
